Artist, Designer, Writer, Teacher

About

I’m an artist, multidisciplinary designer, teacher, writer. Creating with my hands and growing things, being close to the earth, is a lifelong obsession…constantly researching, making, inventing, drawing on broad life experiences and knowledge and applying it in non traditional ways to other fields.  Retired from the high tech industry, I’m catching up on all the interests there weren’t time to pursue while working for someone else.

Floating to the surface at the moment in 2019: intensive gardening, especially an explosion of flowers; picking up sewing again; raising monarch butterflies; thinning an accumulation of stuff in the house; researching the southwest as a snowbird destination; continuing metaphysical studies; hosting lots of dinners with friends. Just living a life of joy as best I can.

This site is about sharing what I’ve been having fun with, what I’ve learned, and assorted insights.  I haven’t been writing about what I do as often as I wanted to, but as I clear my head of the superfluous stuff, I just might pick it up again.

I’d like to make this a place for others to share their experiences also.  If you have something to share, please drop me a note or comment…I’m always looking for guest bloggers who are also interested in these topics.

Hope you’ll join me…looking forward to hearing from you!

I am the director of the Cape Vincent Community Library and am interested in having you come and do a workshop for dyeing silk scarves. Please email me an idea of pricing and what materials would typically run. Your art is beautiful and would inspire many of our patrons to branch out to this media. Thank you, Sharon
